Slider Title - Appears from anywhere

Parameters

Direction: There are four directional animations shown at right.

H Move Offset / V Move Offset: This is how far the text moves out from its masked area. Values are always positive regardless of the Direction.

Mask W Offset / Mask H Offset: The size of the built in Mask. W = width; H = height.

Note: the ability to change the shape of the mask is due to some typefaces that “go out of bounds” (like some scripts). In most cases, it should not be necessary to change the mask size.

Slant Mask: The (horizontal) Angle that the mask is offset. Values from -60 to 60º possible.

Show Mask Bounds: This facilitates aligning the “slide in/out” with some edge boundary in the scene.

ORIENTATION

OSC Location: The position at which the text appears or disappears as it slides in or out.

Angle: The angle at which the text animates from its **origin** anchor point!! This may make the angle look a little weird sometimes as it is displaced from the OSC Location. Turn on Show Mask Bounds for alignments!

Slant Text: Use this to match the angle used in Slant Mask.

Hide OSC: For when you want to get the puck out of the way!

ANIMATION

In Start: Values are % of length of clip. Use to offset the starting time of the animation.

In End: Values are % of length of clip. Use to set the end of the incoming animation.

Out Start: Values are % of length of clip. Use to set the start of the outgoing animation.

Out End: Values are % of length of clip. Use to set the end of the outgoing animation.

Setting the In End to 0 will force the text to start on and in place. Setting the Out Start to 100% will force the text to stay on until the end.

THE REST

Font attributes should be understandable. Drop Shadow is provided but will affect the on screen layout.

Utility Lines (for alignments or “effect”)

Center: OSC Position (values depend on the aspect ratio of the clip or title it is applied to.)

Rotation: match to Slider Angle.

Send to Back: If using Lines visibly, this will place the line behind the text.

Hide OSC: just to get it out of the way during your design stage.

Brush Color: same as line color.

Opacity and Width: Set the transparency (helps to “thin” the line) and width (for effect if used visibly.)

Offset Duplicate: There are two lines in this effect! Helps to set up “line spacing” between multiple instances of Slider used together. See the Demo for possible uses.

Remember that Effects have built in Shape Masks that can be used to refine the appearance of Lines.

Add as many Lines effects as you want or need to any title or clips.

Add Lines Effect to Slider Title to further enhance appearance in some cases — or for its designed purpose of alignment assists. Uncheck Utility Lines to turn it off but leave it “in place”.
