A generator for FCPX
Inspired by setting a still image camera to ‘Bulb’ and taking a small flashlight into a dark space and “drawing” with light streaks.
At first glance, Light Painting looks very complicated. The provided guide will help you boil down the long list of parameters into an easy to follow workflow.
There are four main sections of parameters: Basics Section (Center Offset, “life”, light effect, particles and color); Oscillator section; Glow section; and Camera Move Section. The Oscillator section is the longest because there are seven oscillators, two for X and Y direction, one for Z and two extra to vary the rate of speed of changes in the X2 and Y2 positions by controlling their respective speeds.
The default operation for this generator is to draw a simple line through the middle of the Canvas. It can be used as an animated underline for a Title right “out of the box”. The length of the animation is controlled by Distance Traveled (see below) and goes through the center of the canvas. The default length of this effect is 10 seconds. When stretching or shortening the generator, speed is artificially scaled. The timing aspects of this effect are all based on that original 10 seconds.
Parameter descriptions supplied with the User Guide that accompanies the product.
